The Beatles
There can be little to add to the millions of words written about the phenomenon that was The Beatles. They changed many people's lives, they re-educated a world that was starved, at that time, of culture and music. In Lennon and McCartney the quartet had the greatest popular songwriting team of all-time. Their entire catalogue of songs is unsurpassed and has not dated one iota. Their influence cannot be quantified, it is so huge. Their style, their humour, their attitude and their unbridled anarchic genius will surely never be seen again. They were, and are, quite simply the greatest musical group ever and the adoration they continue to receive is totally justified.
